Increase skin elasticity and moisture; Improve joint health and reduce osteoporosis; Strengthen tendons and bones.
Deer tendon refers to the dried tendons from the limbs of deer species such as the sika deer or the elk. It is rich in proteins and collagen. To prepare deer tendon, the tendons from the deer’s limbs are taken, the hooves are removed, and lightly washed with warm water. They are then softened by heating before being air-dried. High-quality deer tendon has a reddish-brown color and a shiny appearance. Among them, natural deer tendon from New Zealand is considered superior. It is sourced from an environment that is free from pollution, and the deer are raised through free-range grazing without the use of hormones or growth stimulants. Additionally, New Zealand has strict hygiene and safety testing regulations, making deer tendon from New Zealand highly valued.

| . | Whiten and moisturize skin Deer tendon contains proteins such as collagen, hyaluronic acid, and chondroitin sulfate, which are polysaccharides. These compounds have a high content of polar groups in their structure, making them natural moisturizing factors. They can effectively hydrate the skin and prevent transepidermal water loss. Additionally, they have been reported to inhibit the conversion of tyrosine to melanin in the skin, thereby contributing to skin whitening effects. These properties make deer tendon beneficial for both moisturizing and whitening the skin. |
| . | Bone Protection Collagen, found in deer tendon, can effectively fill in the calcium-deficient gaps that occur in bones due to aging. By preventing calcium loss, it helps protect the bones and slow down the progression of osteoporosis. Daily activities, incorrect standing and sitting postures can exert invisible pressure on the joints, leading to joint wear and tear. Regular consumption of deer tendon can help maintain joint flexibility and prevent joint issues caused by these factors. |
| . | Anti-inflammatory Deer tendon contains “deer tendon collagen,” which can enhance the antioxidant capacity of bones. By reducing oxidative stress and inhibiting the generation of lipid peroxides, it helps protect cells from damage and alleviate or reduce inflammatory responses. This property of deer tendon collagen contributes to its effectiveness in relieving or soothing inflammatory reactions. |
Sika deer is primarily found in New Zeland, Jilin and Liaoning provinces.
Sika deer are not highly social animals, and male deer often live alone. They are most active during the early morning and dusk. Their habitat and range change with the seasons. In the spring, they are often found on partially shaded slopes. During the summer and autumn, they migrate to the edge of forests on shaded slopes. In winter, they prefer warmer sunny slopes. Their diet primarily consists of grass, fruits, herbs, tree buds, leaves, and agricultural crops.
After removing the hooves, the deer tendon can be lightly washed with warm water. Then, it is placed over fire to soften and cut into small sections.
